The Location of the Operation Dragnet playing field for 2011 is Vulcan State Forest in Shooters Hill, near Oberon NSW. This is just west of the Blue Mountains.
While Dragon Skin (NSWs Premier Venturer Scout Event) has been held in this forest before, Operation Dragnet will see us use a brand new area, mainly Pine Forest with just a touch of natural bushland. This is a place of nice rolling hills and an excellent area for our little Game.
This area of NSW is well known for its volatile weather, so teams will need to ensure that they are well prepared for both hot and cold conditions. Seriously, we have seen this place snow in November one day and be boling hot the next week....
Due to the nature of the Terrain, all Teams will be required to carry a GPS. We will also be releasing maps and key points along with acceptance letters in mid-October to allow you to plan for this awesome event.
